How it
works...
The physics of this phenomenon are really quite simple. Traditional
sealed units are manufactured using four different components including a metal spacer bar
to determine the gap between the two pieces of glass. This metal bar readily conducts the heat temperature from the inside to the
outside resulting in a temperature drop and potential condensation.
Swiggle on the other hand is
manufactured using a reinforced polymer compound with a very low thermal conductivity.
This forms a highly effective thermal barrier between the two pieces of glass. |
A Long
term solution...
Traditional sealed units because of the increased edge stress
encouraged by the continual cold bridge can break their seal prematurely necessitating
window repair or replacement.
Swiggle-Seal units have a substantial reduction in edge stress
which will enhance service life.
